IT’S TIME! IT’S TIME! DON’T WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE! Get your offerings in now! This is an opportunity to have fun, make new friends, and raise money for the church all at once. What could be better?
There are two parts to this, and you can participate in both. Part one: offer to host an event that involves food, or offer a food item for silent auction. Part two: purchase a seat at an event, or bid on an auction item.
PART 1 – OFFERING AN EVENT OR AUCTION ITEM.
Everyone can contribute to the Fabulously Fun Food Fair Fundraiser! We welcome all kinds of events and auction items, as long as they include food. Plan it yourself or work with a friend or two. If you don’t have space to host an event, team up with a friend who does. You don’t have to be a gourmet cook (and it’s OK if you are). Events are offered for sale at pre-set prices on a first-come basis. Silent auction items go to the highest bidder.
Past food fair EVENTS have included: sweet corn feed, wine tasting and dinner, BBQ and hoedown, gourmet dining, ethnic meals, pool party and cookout, high tea and tunes, brunch and lawn games, canoeing and a picnic lunch, a day on the farm, and a wide variety of theme parties. All events must take place before March 31, 2009. Previous auction items: a complete picnic in a basket, homemade goodies delivered to your home (once or multiple times), and cooking lessons.
Get creative, fill out an EVENT donation form or a SILENT AUCTION donation form, and turn it in to “Food Fair” mail box in the office by Sunday, April 13, 2008 .
PART 2 – BUY A SEAT AT AN EVENT / BID ON AN AUCTION ITEM
A list of events with fixed prices per person, and the auction items, will be published later in April so you can plan your purchases. Event sales are on a first-come basis starting on Sunday, April 27 and continuing on May 4, 2008. Auction items go to the highest bidder as of noon, May 4. You MUST pay for your purchases on the day of sale! No IOU’s!
