Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! First Unitarian offers a beautiful setting to share your vows with family and friends, as well as space for your reception. The following is information you may find useful in choosing First Unitarian Church as the location for your big day.
Minister: While requests for the services of one of our ministers may be honored, assignment is normally made on the basis of availability. Please contact Rev. Jennifer Brooks (email@example.com) or Rev. Erin Gingrich (firstname.lastname@example.org) to check availability to officiate. Minister stipend is based on UU Ministers’ Association guidelines. If there is another minister/ clergy person you are using, you will need approval from Rev. Brooks preceding your facility rental.
Scheduling: please contact Jane White, Office Assistant to check on availability: 244-8603 ext. 107, or email@example.com. A Building Use Agreement form (including page 2: Terms & Conditions) and Alcohol Policy Agreement (if applicable) are completed and signed when reserving space. A $150 deposit is due at this time. This deposit is returned when all things are found in good order after your event. The deposit also holds your reservation and will be returned when cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the wedding.
Receptions: Wedding receptions are located in Channing Hall, with an optional use of the adjoining Gathering Area. The kitchen is also available if needed. For seating, First Unitarian provides 5 ft. round tables with 6 or 8 chairs around each table, plus a Bride’s table and serving from 5 ft. rectangular tables. Bring your own table cloths, food, beverages, paper products, eating & serving dishes, and utensils. A sound system in Channing Hall is available for music from CD or MP3 player.
Price: Facility rental is free to church members who have made a financial commitment to the church; for non-members, please click here for our space rental fees. Facility rental fees do NOT include the stipend for the officiating minister, fees for a Facilities Coordinator, Sound System Technician, or A/V Equipment Rental.
