Accessibility and Inclusion
All are welcome here. We are working on ways to make our space more accessible and welcoming to people with a variety of needs. Below is a summary of current accommodations. The First Unitarian Accessibility Team is also actively seeking input from members, friends, and visitors on other ways to help enable or enhance your participation. Please fill out the form below or stop by the “Tell Us About It” station or Welcome Desk in the foyer on Sunday mornings to share your thoughts.
Parking and Entering the Building
Parking for people with disabled parking permits or marked license plates: Parking is available outside the west doors just past the drop-off lane, and in the parking lot just south of the church on Casady Drive.
Push-button Electric Entrance/Exit Door is available on the main floor, south side of the building.
There are many steps into the building from the east entrance. There are NO steps into the building from the west or south doors. Our building has a total of four (4) levels. To access other levels of the church without using the stairs you may use the wheelchair lift in the northeast area of the building. From the main floor, access it on the east side of the coat rack space outside the auditorium and across from the Welcome Desk.
Assistive Listening Devices, full-page magnifiers, large-print hymnals, and hymnals in Braille are available for borrowing. You’ll find these when you turn left as soon as you enter the Auditorium, or ask an usher.
We are not a nut-free building, and with the number of different groups that use our space we cannot guarantee the space will be free of residue from any food allergens. We do have signs to label treats during coffee hour after services, or for other church events. They are located on top of the microwave in the kitchen.
