AMOS needs your help to complete the Polk County ARPA Survey! Polk County is determining how to spend ~$55M from the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) federal stimulus bill. AMOS has 3 ARPA funding priorities to increase the long-term economic stability of members of our community and increase access to resources critical to health and well-being. AMOS’ 3 funding priorities:
1. Invest in Polk County’s nursing workforce. Training for LPNs and RNs, wrap-around services provided by Project Iowa, and living stipends to help un- and underemployed workers make a career leap to a living wage job as a nurse.
2. Increase number of bilingual and culturally competent mental health professionals in Polk County through a scholarship program.
3. Increase the number of affordable rental units, specifically for people earning between 30 and 50% of area median income.
Click here to complete the survey by Dec 31st!
Your First Unitarian AMOS core team is asking our members and 100s of Polk County residents to fill out the short survey and demonstrate organized support behind AMOS’ funding priorities!
Let AMOS know that you completed the survey here! We’re having a friendly competition to see which institution can organize the most people to fill it out.
