AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy) is a community organizing collective of over 30 institutions (churches and non-profits) in Central Iowa who join together to create a community which works for all. First Unitarian has been a proud member since 2003.
AMOS invites all First Unitarian Church members to be part of the AMOS Delegates Assembly. This is the periodic meeting of all of our member institutions to gather, conduct some business, do some community building and set the course for the coming months.
Our next meeting is Saturday, June 13th from 9:00 – 10:30 am. We invite you to join us on Zoom. Pre-registration is required.
Our agenda for this meeting will include sharing victory stories from across our clusters in Des Moines, Ankeny, Ames and Norwalk; ratifying our budget for 2020-21; discussion of a proposal to launch a Civic Academy on a “New New Deal”; hiring Courtney Dufford to be our lead organizer.
