St. Paul AME Church, 1201 Day Street, Des Moines

Since the September 23rd AMOS action with Des Moines city officials, discussions with members of the Des Moines City Council regarding the proposed 1 cent sales tax increase have continued. One of the top spending priorities of the members of AMOS institutions is housing, including removing or renovating dilapidated and uninhabitable homes, improving housing conditions and affordable housing options.

Join AMOS for a Housing Civic Academy on November 15th to learn how we can work together to improve housing in Des Moines.

Guest speakers include Jane Rongerude, Associate Professor of Community & Regional Planning at Iowa State University. Dr. Rongerude’s research includes housing policy, neighborhood revitalization and community development.
