Board Meeting Highlights: January 21, 2021

  • Rev. Shaw reviewed the Faith and Action Team status, explaining new core members had left the team. They stated active engagement was limited due to COVID and perhaps taking a break for a year might provide the needed hiatus.
  • The audio equipment upgrades would be delayed due to the lead installer had tested positive for COVID.
  • Charles Lewis reported the PPP loan had been forgiven and we would not be applying for next one.
  • The Board approved the Financial Oversight Committee to review the budget prior to presentation to the Board.
  • A motion was made, seconded, and adopted that the Board was open to the possibility of spending Endowment funds up to the $100,000 allocated by the Endowment Committee and willing to construct a proposal on acceptable items.
  • The Nominating Committee will begin the process of accepting applications for Board and Committee positions.
  • The Board approved the fourth proposed Social Media policy presented by the Communications Team.
  • The Communications Team is awaiting the return of the first run from Big Impact. They will review and offer a demonstration to the Board at an informal meeting to allow feedback and tweaking.
  • FFFF – Elaine Imlau reviewed possible format for food fair events starting in June.
  • Retooling for New Realities – Patty Notch had a second big meeting with Ames and Pennsylvania teams. Interesting discussions were held. Rev. Amy reported GA will be online again, second chance for people to try GA, exciting news.
