Would you like more multicultural involvement, but fear the awkwardness that often accompanies being in a completely new context? The Diversity Learning Circle offers a small-group, deep development approach to forging authentic relationships across difference. Participants take the Intercultural Competency Development Inventory (“IDI”), which includes a one-on-one session with Tamara Lebak, certified IDI administrator. Each circle session engages participants in personal reflection; learning about poverty; development of cultural competency skills; and meditation. Real-life exercises allow practice and learning. $100 for the “IDI”; the circle textbook, Dr. Ruby Payne’s Framework for Understanding Poverty (2013), is available from Amazon ($24 new; $16 used). Scholarship assistance for the IDI may be available; please request assistance on your Google form application. Registration is required; the circle is limited to 10. Regular class attendance is essential. After you register for this class, you will receive a special email with a link to a Google form/application.
