FORUM: The Philosophy of Humanism – Nov. 4

Sunday, November 4 at 9:15 & 11 am

Over half of the Unitarians in America today are Humanists deep down inside, they just do not know what the word means and that humanism is a well-organized philosophy of life today. The philosophic roots of humanism are ancient, but the American Humanist Society was formed just over 100 years ago by Curtis Reese (from our Des Moines Church) and John Dietrich.

All are invited to a presentation by Lyle Simpson on the philosophy of humanism: what defines a humanist, how we determine what’s true, what it means to be a humanist, and what is our purpose for our own lives.
