General Assembly (GA), the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), will be 100% virtual in 2020. This means you can be a delegate and represent our church from the comfort of your own home No travel time; no hotel cost; no virus!
Scheduled for June 24-28, a number of events will be live streamed, including:
- Welcome Celebration
- General Sessions and Mini Business Assemblies for conducting UUA business
- Ware Lecture, given by a distinguished guest each year
- Service of the Living Tradition, a worship service to honor our religious leaders
- Sunday morning worship
- A number of online workshops will also be provided, and there will be specific activities for UU youth.
Visit the UUA’s GA page to get more information. UUA leaders say their early decision will help alleviate the anxiety and concern many have about how GA will proceed given the impact of COVID-19. It also gives the Association time to plan a more robust and rewarding virtual experience for everyone.
Virtual GA registration is $150. If you’re interested in being a delegate for First Unitarian, please contact Rev. Amy. The only requirement is you must be a church member.
