Bill Allen is a native of Illinois but long ago adopted Iowa as his home. His watercolor paintings depict the beauty in the everyday things around us all. His subjects include rural and urban landscapes, architecture, animals and botanicals; many having a link to Iowa. Whether it’s tiny mushrooms in a rotting tree, that moment when the sunrise glints across downtown or the blooming flowers in a grocery store, he revels in showing the splendor found in the tiny, the transient, the things that often go unnoticed in our busy lives. Meet the Artist Reception is Sunday, January 20 at 10:15 a.m.
