If someone had asked me to describe what I would have wanted for 2020 – but only use one word, I would have said “vision.” As someone who is nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, having 20/20 vision is a special dream of mine! I would have chosen vision because I wanted to see the fondest dreams of everyone to be fulfilled. I started the year off getting a new prescription for my glasses and six months later, I went back to get a new one because my vision had changed again. Quite fitting for a year that had many changes itself! It was a year that no one could have foreseen!
Now that we’ve come out on the other side of an extraordinary year, it’s time to think of a word for 2021. I have several, but I’m leaning towards “hope.” I hope this year will be better for everyone. What is your one word for this new year? You are invited to email your word to firstname.lastname@example.org. I will print them out and tape them to our auditorium windows along with the snowflakes. I’ll also put them into a Word Cloud to share with everyone. You can submit multiple one-word thoughts; just list each one separately. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can create together!
