The Lens of the Future committee is continuing to monitor the incidence of COVID-19 infections in the community and the status of the indicators that have been adopted by the Board. In the past week the 14 day average positivity rate for tests in Polk County has been steadily increasing and is now at 17.2%. This rate must be below 8% before the committee will consider recommending a return to outdoor in-person meetings. The number of active cases in Polk County and the state are increasing with the state up over 46% so far in October. Both are well above the threshold that has been set for re-opening the church. The total number of active cases in the state is also the highest ever recorded.
The Church is currently at Level 0, which does not allow for any in-person meetings or building use, except as specifically authorized by the Board. The committee does not expect to recommend any change in the current status in the next two weeks.
