Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators

When we will be completing 7th Grade OWL is still an unknown. Future OWL Classes are also an unknown at this time as they are not designed for online. There is a program for parents that can be done online called, Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators. The program consists of a series of up to 12 sessions (90 minutes each). The aim of the program is to help parents and caregivers to get comfortable with sexuality topic discussions with their children.
It’s useful for parents of any age children; most useful for parents of adolescents, run as a small group ministry. The information and attitudes that adults share with their children—intentionally or by default—carry extraordinary power. It is a power that many adults struggle to wield effectively and confidently. Often, their own experiences, perspectives, and worries get in the way. These sessions invite parents and caregivers to find support and courage with one another. Timing of the program will be dependent on parent’s interest. Please email dre@ucdsm.org if you are interested in taking this course.
