Thursdays November 12-December 10th 6:30pm
New and “new-ish” members are encouraged to participate in a Newcomer Circle beginning November 10, 2020. During the four sessions, a deeper understanding of themselves and each other, as well as Unitarian Universalism and First Unitarian Church of Des Moines. The circle will meet from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on November 12, November 19, December 3, and December 10. Attendance is mandatory for the November 12th session; participants should plan to attend at least three of the four sessions. Membership Coordinator Lyra Halsten will be the facilitator
Humanism Book Discussion

We invite UU’s or non-UU’s who are Humanists or wonder if they might be, to explore life issues, philosophy, psychology, and ethics through guided discussions of current writings by well-known authors.
Materials Needed: Group members nominate books and vote to decide which book to read and discuss. You may purchase the book or check it out from public libraries when possible. Facilitator: Dian Curran
