The mission of Green Sanctuary is much larger than how we use and preserve our church building. This group works with other organizations throughout Iowa and the UUA to perform anti-oppressive climate work. They incorporate the UU Values and Principles into our climate and social justice activism. Their vision includes bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually resilient world where we share and use resources to benefit all. Join First Unitarian Church of Des Moines as we discuss our Green Sanctuary status and how we plan to move forward in 2022.
