Please join us on Thursday, May 16 for our monthly potluck at noon with a speaker to follow. Sol Varisco of Justice for Our Neighbors is unavailable, but we are fortunate to have a wonderful speaker from American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), Erica Johnson, who will tell us about that group’s Iowa Immigrant Rights Program of which she is the director. The group provides legal services to and advocates for immigrants around the state.
The June meeting will be a lunch at the Urbandale restaurant The Machine Shed. The date is June 20th at 12:30. We will have a sign up sheet at Thursday’s meeting or you can email me at email@example.com.
May Hosts: Our booklet says “TBD”, so if anyone has volunteered, please notify Joyce Vandegrift.Otherwise, please consider doing so, and let Joyce know. Thanks very much!May Birthdays: Roger Evans (6th); Bruce Martin (28th); Terry Swanson’s birthday would have been the 11th (Please note his memorial service will be June 1 at the church).PLEASE bring your own table service, i.e., flatware, cups for coffee and glasses forwater. The decision was made that we will all bring our own table utensils thereby avoiding anyone having to “do the dishes”. She won’t be able to help with UCA any longer or come to meetings.
