Rev. Susan Frederick Gray says that Mr. Rogers taught her that in scary times to look for the helpers. But, like Charles Payne says at the beginning of his book, I’ve Got the Light of Freedom, heroes are based in “a faith that ordinary people who learn to believe in themselves are capable of extraordinary acts, or better, of acts that seem extraordinary to us precisely because we have such an impoverished sense of the capabilities of ordinary people.”
To get from the world – so unjust and so inhumane – that is, to the world that should be — heck to get from now to November — it’s going to take all of us to be heroes in our own way. That’s why this week, we’re asking you to RSVP to How We Thrive on May 12th and recruit three people to attend with you.
