The Humanist Society of Iowa, a chapter of the American Humanist Association, emphasizes a non-theistic life-stance promoting caring, fairness, community, and science. Join them for their book group (listed above) or quarterly business meeting, which features a speaker on a current topic of general interest.

Humanist Book Group

Meets:  First and third Sundays, 12:00 p.m. CT;  Zoom link

We invite UUs and non-UUs who are Humanists or wonder if they might be, to explore life issues, philosophy, psychology, and ethics through guided discussions of current writings by well-known authors. Group members nominate books and vote to decide which book to read and discuss. You may purchase the book or check it out from public libraries when possible.

“A Little Light Reading” – Each of these sessions will cover an essay, short fiction piece, or magazine article.
